The stunning Perhentian Islands are located just off the northeast coast of Malaysia, featuring picture-perfect white sand beaches, vibrant turquoise water, and lush jungles. Days in the Perhentians are greeted with the sound of waves and concluded with stunning sunsets that color the sky with fiery hues. Snorkelers drift lazily above technicolor coral gardens, with divers exploring shipwrecks filled with barracuda and lionfish. On land, narrow trails wind through the rainforest inhabited with birds, monkeys, foliage and beaches cafés serving fresh seafood under the stars. Whether napping on quiet Turtle Beach or zipping across the vibrant reefs off Kecil, there is no shortage of laid-back adventures in the Perhentian Islands. For ideal weather to visit the Perhentian Islands, plan to go between March and early October. Most hotels will close from November until February for the monsoon season.
