Today, Shaxi remains remarkably untouched by mass tourism, welcoming surprisingly few visitors. Its pristine preservation offers a rare glimpse into a China of the past.
On market day, Fridays, you’ll often see local Pumi women dressed in vibrant traditional attire, adding to the village’s authentic and timeless charm.
