The Mekong Delta, located in the most southern region of Vietnam, is often referred to as the “rice bowl” of the nation. The area is dominated by vast rice paddies and lush mangrove forests lining the Mekong river, which serves as the main artery and a complex system of tributaries. The abundance of canals and waterways enables a leisurely way of following the Mekong Delta’s attractions.

The best hotels in the Mekong Delta are mostly found in Ho Chi Minh City and there are also a handful of luxury properties in Can Tho. With a stay in either city, you will be in good access to convenient and luxurious accommodations for what attractions and activities there is in the delta. If you are planning an experience on a Mekong Cruise or if at a vacation in Vietnam, it is well worth a trip to the Mekong Delta. Consider these fantastic and affordable accommodation options for your travels.

1, The Park Hyatt Saigon

The Park Hyatt Saigon is a beautiful hotel, located in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, which use to be a US military base during either Vietnam War. It offers a spa, beautiful gardens, pool, and has nice rooms, some of which include Bluetooth speakers and have a blend of old-world charm with modern-day comfort! You can experience Vietnamese as well as French-themed cuisine at the Square 1 Restaurant, and enjoy cocktails and light fare at the Opera restaurant. The hotel offers additional dining experiences with a large bar and an extensive wine menu and 2 Lam Son, a hot spot with signature martinis and live music.

2, The Reverie Saigon

The Reverie Saigon sits proudly within Times Square, located in District 1, Saigon’s business and tourist district. The décor is very upscale with a grand entrance with a large couch made in Italy and an emerald green clock that seems to touch the ceiling. The rooms are opulent with imaginative touches, good size beds, and stylish bathroom have interesting touches. The Reverie offers three restaurants with French-Cantonese-Italian cuisines. The exercise centre is lavish and offers-sauna, and a luxurious outdoor pool. The Spa has ten treatment rooms, steam and sauna amenities, and a beauty salon.

3, The Hôtel des Arts Saigon

The Hôtel des Arts Saigon is a trendy boutique hotel with a central location in Ho Chi Minh City that harmonizes contemporary Vietnamese styling with French colonial.view and offerings, world-class dining, and an award-winning spa. It has a rooftop pool, and hip bar. It is a thirty minute drive to the airport, and a few blocks to shops, restaurants and key sites like the Saigon Central Post Office, Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum.
The hotel invites you in through giant wooden doors into a carefully planned lobby that used aspects of Feng Shui with its marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, smart lighting, luxurious fabrics, and fresh flowers everywhere. The hotel staff wear traditional Vietnamese attire, and the owner’s interesting collection of art and outstanding antiques is well represented throughout the hotel. The rooms/suites are lightly decorated with French-Indochine flair with rosewood parquet floors and built-in handcrafted dark wood furniture made by local craftsmen in the double bed and very comfortable neutral, toned bed and sofa topers. The interior helps to convey a blend of East and West, with interesting architectural details like the round-edged windows created during a decade of the art-deco era.
In addition to the library, which includes many different pieces of art, you can lounge by the glass-walled saltwater pool on the 24th floor with amazing views of the bounded area and the skyline of the city. Le Spa des Artistes provides Asian and European spa experiences. Saigon Kitchen offers a street food market inspired offering with the lunch buffets containing flavours from western and pan-Asian selections for lunch and an à la carte dinner with a seafood focus on weekend nights. Guests can enjoy Café des Beaux Arts with a grand piano and a wood-paneled Social Club on the 23rd floor, that has a more relaxed vibe than upstairs! Rooftop rustic-style bar serving up a great cocktail experience.

4, Villa Song Saigon

Villa Song Saigon is located on the banks of the Saigon River, in a charming neighborhood of nice villas and homes. In District 2, you’re just a short ride from Ho Chi Minh City itself, but also in an area of calm that feels far removed from the typical noise of suburbia. The hotel is also located in an area with not too many sights, but it does offer a boat shuttle free of charge for guests which takes approximately 15 minutes. A guaranteed prettier experience than the taxi!

There are a lot of hotels to choose from in Ho Chi Minh City, however, on reflection, Villa Song Saigon stands out and quite possibly is the reason for my desire to return one day. A large footprint, large French-colonial style, the long and narrow hotel stretches across the skyline of the Saigon River to surrounding architecture to envy. Villa Song Saigon is a boutique hotel with just 23 rooms but each reflects a sense of old-world colonial charm tastefully expressed through unique design aesthetics. Guests can select entry level hotel rooms such as the Writer’s Room, perfectly suited for a single traveler traveling on a budget or an Imperial Suite with king-sized four-poster bed and two balconies. The rooms are all beautiful with classic wooden floors, and complimentary mini-bar for free.

Guests can breakfast next to the large swimming pool which has shaded sun-lounger pods. Guests should find the pool area an inviting, comfortable feel, especially when entering through the hotel entrance that is covered with vines as a lingering reminder that you are in the tropics. Other expensive hotels had a small gym just overlooking the pool, however, the spa has a good list of face and body treatments using package specials. At Bistro Song Vie, the hotel’s all-day dining venue, guests will dine in lovely surroundings with tables on the river, palms trees and lawn. Bistro Song Vie offered a predominately Asian menu at lunch and dinner.

5, Victoria Can Tho Resort

The lovely Victoria Can Tho Resort successfully combines luxury and charm attributed to French colonial influences. The hotel’s green space is relatively unique in its character, to complement it with a riverside spa, open-air bar and terrific restaurant serving fabulous food. Guests will have ample opportunity to de-stress, enjoy themselves, and take part of different activities of a memorable experience, such as a chartered cruse aboard a converted rice barge, cooking classes, cycling tours, etc. The resort is an incredible destination in the region, around a 20-minute drive from Can Tho Airport, making perfect it easy to connect Mekong Delta to Hanoi.

6, Azerai Can Tho

Aserai Can Tho is located on an islet along the Hau River – a getaway from the populated cities that create noise and crowded spaces. The amazing Azerai Can Tho retreat beautifully harmonizes with nature with blissful natural lake populated with lotus flowers. There are lush gardens and banyan trees around the lake’s perimeter. Situated directly across the river from Can Tho, guests experience tranquility from the necessary bustle of the more popular Can Tho city. Now a mid-point for two opportunities of exploring both the Mekong region and as a destination to stay in Can Tho with a boat ride to the city of only a couple of minutes. We received bicycles to ride along the flora, colorful and vibrant markets, amazing street food and magnificent pagodas.

The rooms were comfortable and views of lush greens, large bathrooms configured in warm auburn wood complimented sleek slate-grey fabrics depict this modern minimalism.

Days can spent seeking wonders of the delta, or an evening can include only about eating dinner of flame-grilled fish with spiced wagyu beef at the Grill. Alternatively, for those wanting the resort’s offerings who is seeking relaxation and a great time can join tennis on the riverside, tavern cocktails next to the pool, or a soothing hot-stone massage.
