For years the island of Koh Pha Ngan has been known as something of a hedonistic destination, famous for its Full Moon parties and backpacker-focused facilities. Although this is certainly still the case for much of the island, there are now a small number of more upmarket properties making their mark. Rooms and facilities remain deliberately un-extravagant, but this is their attraction, as visitors look to escape the bigger resorts on the neighbouring island of Koh Samui.
