What is the Ideal Time to Visit Nepal?
If you are looking for the classic, crystal clear mountain views you should travel to Nepal between October and December. The skies are blue, the air is crisp and the views are stunning. The dry weather tends to hold until April (although temperature varies significantly from one place to another).
January and February get pretty chilly and the average low is around 43°F, especially at night; however, if you can bundle up in layers you will be rewarded with less busy trails and some of the best views because there are very few trekkers on the trails, then again, high-altitude trekking is not recommended at this time.
In May, everything is in bloom, especially the rhododendron flowers, with warm dry weather upon us. However, temperatures will start to rise with humidity and can reach 95°F.
From June to August is the Monsoon Season. Because of this, expect heavy rains, clouds obscuring the mountain views, and landslide risk. Many places close down during this period of time as well.
Regardless of when you travel to Nepal, Nepal is a small country with lots of festivals, you are never far from a festival, so, keep this in mind if you want to join the celebrations or make a pilgrimage at that time. Dates do change yearly so double check with your travel specialist if you want to join in on any celebrations or pilgrimages during your trip!
